Mrs ACB,

Sorry if this is too late to assist you, but I only came across the following site this evening, when looking for information about Dumbarton, and remembered having seen your query some time ago.  (http://www.melvich.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/mtam/prog2.htm).

The address should take you to a 1949 photograph of the Dumbarton Equitable Co-op Society Ltd (Educational Dept) Juvenile Choir 1948-49

The main site is "morethanamemory.org.uk", and among other things features 23 galleries of photographs of Dumbarton: people, street scenes, school photographs, etc.

Possibly the quickest way to get to these galleries, is to take the web address above "......./mtam/prog2.htm", and replace the highlighted part with "gallery1", "gallery2", "gallery3", etc up to "gallery23" (Omitting the inverted commas).

Regards

Istrice
