Hi,

There is a link (reply 1) to the 1915 Census on the family search site - if that helps.
Couldn't find it anywhere else. Have looked for those other children before and never found them  ::)

Hi Sandra

Thanks will see if that's where it was.

Yes, we keep looking for them but still they remain elusive ???

If John emigrated in 1888 would he be in any other census before 1900?  Was there one in 1895, is it available online, perhaps I should have looked before I asked :)

Kind regards and thanks again.

There was a 1895 New Jersey census on ancestry but it only gives the name John Spence. Hoboken Ward 3. New Jersey and no Mary with him. Age between 20 - 60 years.
The 1900 Census says married 5 years so if that was him they were married after that. Can't seem to find a date for the 1895 NJ Census.
Newspaper in Trenton says enumeration will be between May 15 and July 1 and final count is due in from enumerators by August 20.

Hope it's not pushing it, but would there be anywhere where marriages might be online as I haven't yet been able to find the marriage of John and Mary Woods c. 1895

Kind regards

How do you know the maiden name of Mary ?

Its ok answered my own question - have seen the birth of Margaret Spence with parents listed.

I found this website:  http://newjersey-genealogy.com/Hudson-County-Cemetery-Records.htm

I haven't looked through it, but you might look for any "Spence" names that show up.

Hi Genealiza

Thanks for that, I have had a look, sadly you have to go through the whole lot individually but I will.

Can't remember if I have already asked this but bearing in mind where they lived would you have any idea where their nearest cemetery might have been please - not sure if you live in New Jersey or should I put a plea in? :)

Kind regards and thanks

No, I'm not in NJ, but I googled cemeteries in Hudson county and came up with this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cemeteries_in_Hudson_County,_New_Jersey

You might try doing the same for Hoboken if you want to narrow down the search.
