True about needing more time.
Good idea to write down all the Rogers you come across. They're bound to link up somewhere along the line. I've gone from a week, to a month, to six months to a year's subscription!
However, I have got back to around 1650 with only a few dead ends and I think those are non conformists.
Good luck 😀

On 24.09.1826 they had a Nehemiah Rogers who in 1845 was convicted of burglary, transported to Tasmania

been thinking about this and looking at the many on-line trees claiming ancestry to the deported "Nehemiah Rogers" ,,,,,,, all that happens to Nehemiah after his deportation and subsequent marriages and children all look to be a mater of record,,, but where things look to be a little sketchy, are his origins  ??? He seems to be mostly given to be the son of Nehemiah Rogers and Mary Warren married 15-12-1820, Chelmsford, Essex, ( not Bocking ? )
Most say that he was born Bocking, Essex c1825, followed by "not confirmed", I believe that this has been taken from the transcripts of his trial, giving his age at time of trial and where he was from. What is very interesting is that he is prosecuted together with his cousin "Joseph Rogers" a year older and also from Bocking, Essex, which to my mind is the biggest clue as to both Nehemiah's as well as Joseph's parentage !!!
Looking at my notes, I cant seem to find a connection to these names,  maybe someone out there has the information to put this all together and solve this once and for all ??? ???

I have found the cousin Joseph, although he was baptised on the same day as Nehemiah on 27/6/1826 in Bocking.
His father was William and mother was elizabeth.
So ... Next step is to find a Rogers who have a Nehemiah and a william as sons. Will see who Timothy's siblings were.

Lol. It's quite a long thread! Interesting one though and at least they all stayed in one parish which makes them easier to find, unlike mine who hop from Woodham ferrers to south benfleet to st Pancras, then forest gate, barking, Epping and Romford!  ::)
