Thank you both for the information you gave me.  But sadly this is the wrong Catherine Margaret Marshall.  Catherine's parents on this marriage for John McDougal in Edinburgh, is John Marshall(deceased) and Mary and another name but very hard to read, her maiden name was Edmonds (deceased)  this John McDougal and Catherine Margaret Marshall were married on the 6 June 1925 at 24 Mansion house Road, Edinburgh.

I have managed to visit Scotlands people in Edinburgh and found it to be a great building and the people were very helpful.  I concentrated on looking for a marriage and death for Catherine Margaret Marshall but found nothing that matches with her parents names.  I then had a look through the Margaret but did not manage to get through them all.  But the people within the building also had a look and they informed me that they could not find the Catherine Margaret Marshall within Scotland, either

I have had a look in England but again found nothing that matches

Does anyone have any ideas where I should be  looking next??

Can anyone please inform me if Catherine Margaret Marshall emigrated, would she have been able to use her first name of Catherine to board a ship rather than her full name?
