Again sorry for the confusion...There are a lot of MacDonald's to get through however this is a list of what I believe is the right line..(  However I my be wrong)
Alexander MacDonald b 1995/6  south Uist wed Marion Mackay
Donald Ewen MacDonald b 1862-1909 south Uist   wed Marion Currie.
Donald Macdonald 1823 -1909 ?? north Uist  wed Margaret MacLeod from Harris
Donald MacDonald b 1788 / north Uist wed flora MacLean  ?? Carnish

Not sure if this is of any help but if anyone can shed any more info would be MUCH appreciated.

Marion Currie who married Donald Ewan:

Siblings with mother Catherine MacIntyre & John Currie (Eriskay):

John c1851
Donald c1852 = Catherine Gillies
Isabella c1854 = Angus MacCormick
Mary (Dii)

Anne Marie

P.S. I believe John Currie (Eriskay) to be my relation so need to do some more digging  ;D. I believe his parent's to be Donald Currie & Marion Steele but do not go by that as I haven't sourced it as definite yet.

Jackie,

I must have checked out John Currie already as I have his marriage from 2 years ago  ::)

John Currie (Farmer) 45yrs, Lochboisdale married Catherine Currie (m/s MacIntyre) 29yrs, Lochboisdale  - (both widowed) 5 Feb 1861 at Bornish' Howmore.

John's parent's Ewen Currie (dec) & Margaret MacInnes (dec)
Catherine's parent's Alexander MacIntyre (dec) & Isabella MacDonald

Witnesses Rory (Roderick) MacIntyre & Donald MacIntyre

I have also found death cert. for Donald Currie d 12 Mar 1908, S/Lochboisdale, Boisdale, married to Marion MacAskill (alive) son of John Currie & 1st wife Mary MacIntyre. Registered by Alexander Currie (Son)

I also found marriage cert. for John Currie (Tailer), S/Lochboisdale, Boisdale & Peggie MacIsaac (Domestic Servant), East Kilbride, Boisdale, S/UIst married 1 Feb 1916, Eriskay.

John's parent's Donald Currie, Fisherman (brother of your Marion) & Catherine Gillies
Peggie's parent's Neil MacIsaac & Bella (Isabella) MacIntyre

Witnesses John MacIsaac & Mary Currie

Isabella MacIntyre is my relative :-)

Thanks anne marie
I think Catherine Macintyre married twice and confusingly both to a john currie..
Catherine currie and 1st john currie (erasky) had john 1851..donald1852..isabella1854..MARION 1856 and Mary 1859-60. she had two kids to 2nd marriage mary1862-4 and mary 1865.
The 2nd john currie also had kids fro 1st marriage...Donald..ewen..Roderick. Margaret and Marion who married a Sam Mackenzie..

I will have to sit and try and piece it all together but thanks again for the info.

Jackie,

I recommend FTM (Family Tree Maker) Programme as it stores all the info. you type in. You can print Reports, do charts, add pics, make books & numerous other things included...............well worth the £'s  ;D

Anne Marie

P.S. If you want to swap info. with other's with FTM you can exchange gedcom's which saves typing everything in.

hello all
I haven't been on here for some time and appear to have lost some correspondence.
I am still trying to put together my family tree from the south Uist side.
my grandmother was born in Dailiburgh lochboisdale her name was Margaret MacDonald known as jessie or Seonaid (sorry about spelling). Her parents were Alexander (Alistair) MacDonald and Marion McKay.
Her grandparents were Donald Ewen MacDonald (1861-1904) and Marion Currie(1856-1945) and this is where I get stuck. They married 17/2/1885 and had 9 children however I am at a stand still with Marions parents. I think they were John Currie and Catherine MacIntyre and she may have been married before to another John Currie. I would be very thankful for any help or further info, look forward to piecing together this jigsaw.
Jackie :)
