Hi There,

Please if anyone can help on any army record of the 2xgrandfather Charles Moore born c1871 Dublin and of above, Charles was in Bermuda, North America from 1896ish to 1901ish.

Charles got hit on the head of the but of a gun, during the boer war, and came home and died in 1905 or 1906.

Kind Regards

Hi Gary

This should be his service record. He was discharged in 1904 as medically unfit.

http://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=gbm%2fwo97%2f5531%2f090%2f001&parentid=gbm%2fwo97%2f5531%2f966217&highlights=""

If he had died in service they would have destroyed his record 20 years later. It says he was previously in the Militia. This record may also be on FindMyPast, but it will not add anything.

I wonder if this is his baptism it's RC http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/381e1d0195949
There is also a Charles James in 1873 it's COI
And a Charles Frederick in 1870 it's COI
There are two possible deaths

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FTFR-Q6N
None for 1906.

Hi ken & Sinann,

Thankyou so much for the important info.

Sinann i do know my Charles was a RC, ATM i don't have his birth or baptism record, i might know soon who's his father when i can send off for Charles marriage to my 2xgrandmother Cecilia O'Callaghan in Dublin in 1895.

As my mother said, during when Charles was on the ship leaving Bermuda abt 1901, the ship was in the Bermuda Triangle, and was spinning round and round for two days, and thank god the ship got back to safety.

Thanks Again
