Detouring a bit from the "Henry" mystery, I am struck by Ivy's change of name to Ursula and wonder if there is any chance she might have attended the Ursuline convent school in Forest Gate known as St Angela's?  With an Irish mother she may well have been baptised into the Catholic faith.

It looks as though the "Alderbert" [sic] Terrace reference is likely to be to Aldebert Terrace in Stockwell (now SW8).

No electors are registered at 45 Aldebert Terrace 1903-1907 inclusive. The page which would contain no 45 can be found by searching for Orlando Gibbs Brimmer who was in Aldebert Terrace throughout the period.

Subsequently, a James Blair Baird can be found registered at no. 45.

Two deaths which might be worth investigating if only to eliminate, both near the 1917 target date.

Henry Adams of Beresford Lodge Monkton Thanet Kent retired licensed victualler died 8 September 1916 Probate Canterbury 16 February 1917 to Ann Adams widow and Leonard George Rogers auctioneer and estate agent. Effects £2504 16s 10d. Death reg shows his age as 68.

Henry Adams of 8 Disraeli Road Forest Gate Essex died 31 October 1916 at the London Hospital Whitechapel Middlesex. Probate London 18 April 1917 to Ada Adams widow. Effects £64 10s. Death reg shows his age as 73.

Added: it looks as though both of these can be ruled out of contention - see later posts.

Hi Avm,
Wow that looks like that could actually be him. What does 'occupation dwelling house (successive) mean?

It means he occupied (as owner or tenant) two dwelling-house addresses in the same county in immediate succession during the relevant period (being the 12 months up to 15 July in the qualifying year, which in this case would I think have been 1906). Taken together, his occupation of those two addresses would have had to span the entirety of that 12-month period in order to qualify him as an elector.

So it looks as though his address immediately before he moved to 35 Hawley Rd was 45 Aldebert Terrace.
