What info do you already have - parents names etc??

There is a 1901 entry for a John S Davidson who fits your profile except for that initial S.

It may be a mistranscription so we need some info re: his parents to check

1891 has 2 additional children - Maggie 12 b Petty, Invernessshire and Catherine 10 b Nairn

It also confirms that Mary J was then only 1yr old although she is indexed as Mary G in 1891

Have a look at the free Libindx site which allows you to search for information about folk from Moray. It will probably throw up something useful.

I don't quite understand why you posted this in this thread. The surnames mentioned in this thread are DAVIDSON and YOUNG. DUNCAN isn't mentioned except as a middle name, and all three are extremely common surnames. GILLESPIE isn't quite so common, but it isn't mentioned either, and Falkirk is over 160 miles from Forres.

Do you have some reason to think that there were Duncans in Forres who were related to Gillespies in Falkirk? If so, start a new thread with the information you have already, so that we have something to go on.

If not, start a new thread in the Stirlingshire forum, and tell the members of that forum what you know already and what you would like to know.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
