Can't be 100% but it looks as though she never married.

1881 Anne Blackburn born 1857 at Greenock, Hotel Cook, living at Greenock.
1891 Annie Blackburn born 1856 at Greenock,  Cook, living at Milrig House, Galston.
1901 Annie Blackburn born 1859 at Greenock, Cook, living at Carstairs House, Carstairs.

Hi Shaza

Isn't this Ann with mother and siblings in 1871?:

Jane M Blackmore 51 b. Lochwinnoch
Ann Blackmore 15 b. Greenock
Margaret Blackmore 12 b. Greenock
Alexander Blackmore 9 b. Greenock

Address: 1 Open Shore, Greenock

Monica  :)

Added: Transcribed as Blackmore on the index I am looking at but siblings seem to match on IGI info. Alexander above is showing as daughter on the transcription which matches the birth details of Alexanderina on IGI in 1862.

To Cookies4 and Monica

This is definitely them thanks - I have a photo of Ann and on the back years ago I wrote "Annie Blackburn house keeper Carstairs House owned by Sir James King" Mum must have told me. Also I didn't have the 1871 census only previous so didn't know there were more children???? oh oh ??   Father Alexander died July 1861 after census could this Alexander - daughter be his ??????????????  Maybe she was conceived before he died and then named after him - that would make sense!
I'll try and track your IGI 1862 birth

Shaza, there is a really useful search that you can do on IGI at www.familysearch.org called a 'parent search'. It helps you find any children that show to a set of parents and particularly useful for that period between 1855 - 74 (at which point the Mormons stopped loading on Scottish data). It is not always a 100% but really use search nevertheless  :)

If you go to the IGI search screen, then simply put in father and mother's full names (first/surnames) on the right hand side. Then at the bottom put in British Isles/Scotland and then search. If it is obvious that you have more than one couples children, you can add the additional search filters of time periods/ counties. Doing this search for Alexander and Jane brings up:

1. JOHN BLACKBURN Christening: 08 OCT 1848 Lochwinnoch
3. ANN BLACKBURN Birth: 15 JUL 1856 Middle Or New Parish, Greenock
2. MARGARET BLACKBURN Birth: 29 OCT 1858 Middle Or New Parish, Greenock
4. ALEXANDERINA BLACKBURN Birth: 20 JAN 1862 Middle Or New Parish, Greenock

If father Alexander died July 1861, then Alexanderina is likely to be his daughter is she was born c. 7 months after his death you would think.

Monica  :)

Monica I just did what you said about parents for my John Blackburn and Ann Wallace (parents of Alexander) and I still can't figure how to differenciate them from all the rest. All I THINK I know is that Alex was b. 1818 and he had a brother James All Lochwinnoch. This might be my dead end and I'll have to face it for now??????????

A parent search for a John Blackburn and Ann Wallace shows 17 entries for them on IGI, all in Lochwinnoch. These look to be a mixture of member submitted entries (which need to be verified elsewhere for accuracy) and actual extract from the Parish records.

Your Alexander's details on that list show as:

birth 24 DEC 1818 Lochwinnoch - submitted
christening 24 DEC 1818 Lochwinnoch - actual extract

Is this what you are trying to find together with siblings to Alexander?

:P Sorry, you are trying to figure out who the parents were of John Blackburn and wife Ann Wallace (must read slower me!).

This looks like the family in 1841:

John Blackburn 60, wright
Ann Blackburn 60
Margaret Blackburn 38
Isabel Blackburn 21
Alexander Blackburn 19
George Blackburn 17
John Kirkwood 9
Ann Mcneil 8

Address: Factory Close, Lochwinnoch

Ages for 1841 were supposed to be rounded down to the nearest 5yrs for everyone over 15, so John and Ann could have been born any time between 1777-81. Both show as born in the county.
