Betws Gwerful Goch help, please.
« on: Wednesday 08 April 09 17:50 BST (UK) »
Hi all

I'm hoping for some help with finding details about the burials of the following people.   They were my 7 times Great Grandparents.

Jane vch Griffith was married to Rowland John, and they lived at Bryn Mawndy (Bryn y Mowndir) in Bettws Gwerful Goch.  Rowland John died in 1685, and his wife, Jane, in 1700, all verified by their respective wills.

Having searched all the Bettws G G and Gwyddelwern Parish Records around that time, I haven't been able to find out which parish they were buried in.

I'd be very grateful if anyone can  help by looking at the PRs of nearby parishes, please.  Many thanks, if you are able to help.

Merionethshire: Edwards, Roberts, Williams, Davies, Rowland, John
Monmouthshire: Jenkins, Lewis, Evans, Jones, Rees
Glamorgan: Roberts, Lewis
Breconshire: Jenkins, Jones

Hi

I've just taken a look at which parishes border on BGG. They are:

Llanfihangel Glyn Myrfyr
Cerrigydrudion
Llangwm
Derwen
Corwen
Clocaenog

added -also Llanfor

I've got some of the records of these but not all and will check but if anyone else has Cerrigydrudion, Derwen and Clocaenog .......

I presume that you've seen that Rowland is listed in the Notitiae of 1681 with 4 people in the household, none under 18.

No burials are shown for 1685 at all which is odd  :-\

Yes, I have a copy of the Notitiae, but thank you for trying.  It's a great puzzle, as all the will and probate documentation is clearly dated.
