jan57, Yes had seen that, it puts her birth out by about 10 years.....as does the marriage to William Draper....but it makes me wonder.....Knipton is not far from Barrowby Vale, where Lizzie lived.........Del.

Reading through my notes, from the 1980's, the general opinion is that Lizzie was the STEPDAUGHTER of John Ayto, I suppose her birth certificate might give real father's name, or may just say ''father unknown''....the question remains.....what happened to her ? ......Del.

Kathy, Thank you, so it is not her, I had my doubts because of the age difference....Lizzie was born in 1876....I wonder what happened to her ?.....thanks again, Del.

On the 1911 census, Elizabeth Ayto...Lizzie's mother...is given as having 9 children born, 7 living and 2 died.....the two that died are twins Edith and Maud, born & died in 1892....so  Lizzie must still have been living in 1911.....but where was she ?..........Del.

Hi Del,

There was a sister to Lizzie with the parents an Elsie b 1896 I have checked on Free BMD site and there is an Elsie Ayto marrying a Bertrum G Guess Jul/Sept 1918 Grantham. I suppose it is possible that Lizzie could have gone to live with them? and they moved from the area.Just a thought.

Kathy, Thank you, I am looking into that possibility, Lizzie had 8 siblings, Alice, Thomas, Annie, Ethel, Edith & Maud (twins who died in their birth year) Elsie and Ernest.....some of who moved away from the Grantham area.....there are also quite a few marriages for the Grantham area of Lizzie's, born in 1876/1877....this is proving to be quite a challenge........Del.
