Photo to date please

Is anybody able to give a rough date for this photo? I'm not sure who the subjects are, so a date might help narrow it down... I haven't come across this style of card-backed print before but I'm sure somebody here might know. The size is approximately 10cm x 6cm, and the reverse is blank.

I can't help you with a date but they are very cute little boys. Maybe someone can clean it up as well as date it for you.

What you have is called a cabinet card.
Children are difficult to date & we usually get a better idea from the card details which are absent on this indicating it's a copy.
However I would suggest a date from WW1 & possibly into the v.early 20's.

I agree, this is possibly as late as 1930. Well dressed youngsters, not from working poor, despite the background. I did not realise that cabinet cards and cartes des visite were still in use that late. I suppose it's not a spoof?

Not in use as late as 1930.
You'd be hard pressed to find any after the early 20's.

The people I think it could possibly be are brothers born 1896 and 1898, is that possible? Guess that would make the original taken about about 1905-1910 judging by their age - but I guess it  could be a later 'copy' (c1914-1921) of an older photo?

Cleaned it up a bit, might help to date it. I reckon that those two boys look around the 6 & 8(ish) age. So if they are who you think they are, that would put the photo at your 1905 guess.

1905-10 is too early.
You need to look for births 1910 onward.
