Marriages, Henbury Church, Bristol

Could I ask for help please....

Are there surviving records for Henbury Church, or an Online Parish Clerk who could help please.  As with a previous post am looking for evidence of a marriage between Alice Mary Maggs and Frederick Abley.  This marriage was reported in the local newspaper, Bristol Mercury, as taking place 20 November 1866.

Alice and Frederick were 1st cousins so not sure this marriage was legal in 1866??

It is quite a common misconception that marriages of first cousins were either illegal or frowned upon by the Church.  It was not only possible for first cousins [cousins-german] to marry each other; it was also quite common, having been legalized in the 1540s.

You may wish to get this moved to Gloucestshire - Henbury is certainly in Gloucestershire (as is Bristol) not Somerset
