The person standing was taken in Dublin. The photograher was Moore his address 115 Grafton St opposite Trinity College Dublin the emblem in the middle between Moore and address says Highest Awards.I have not found any information on this photogragher to give me a time period. ......

There's a James Moore photographer, age 38,  listed as one of the occupants of 115 Grafton street on the 1901 census - see : link

In earlier directory listings (1850s/60s) the address is listed is a Thos. Cranfield, with trades of 'printseller publisher & frame maker', and adds photographer to his list of professions in about 1880. Thomas is listed up to at least 1894, but must have died sometime before 1901 as his wife Edith is listed at one of the other sections of 115 Grafton street, as a widow.

Maybe James Moore took over the over the photography business after Thomas died ?

some more information on Mr Moore - it seems his business moved from Grafton Street sometime between 1901 and 1904, as he is listed at a different address in Thom's 1904 and number 115 is undergoing renovations by it's new owners :

114 & 115 Grafton Street, Rebuilding for the Northern Banking Co.

4 Nassau Street,  James Moore, photographer,

Thanks Shane,  now I know this person must be a relation to my family as the photo was taken after they came to NZ. John Anderson came out around 1881, so it's not him.

It was quite common to send photos back 'home' to Ireland to the relatives and close friends. In this case it could have been the same idea in reverse- photo sent to someone who'd left Ireland- but that really don't mean that the person is definitely related. We have several very old photographs in old albums of people who were not related.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
