try looking through the old hawick photo books - I think it appears in one of them but not sure which one or try the Hawick Camera Club to see if one their members has one.

Also the Museum at Wilton Lodge may have something - they have items from the old Hawick churches in their archive.

I was baptised there too

Thanks terianne for your tips I will give those a try.
I have not lived in Hawick for over 40 years although I still have family there. I only found out about the demolition last year when I paid a brief visit.
Thanks again Regards minto77

I've been trying to get a pic for you, but no luck yet, I'll keep asking around, but here is an aerial pic from 1948 that shows the church, you might like.
You can see more of these from the Britain from above site.

Good news

 ;D

the Hawick Camera Club's latest DVD called 'Hawick Past and Present' has a picture of the Old Parish Church in it.

the DVD is good, but I think its only on sale in Hawick - maybe a good idea to contact the Camera Club direct to get a copy.

The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments for Scotland have lots of photos of the church, though not online. But they would be able to supply copies, either by post or digitally. For a fee.

See their site listing at

Sorry I am unable to find the picture in question. Hawick Camera Club video is your best option, check out their web page. Hawick Past and Present Volume 11.
