I also note there is another blakey baptised nov 1734 in colne to john and eilizabeth . Could this be dad john 's brother ie family name

I couldn`t find any Blakey`s  as a first name, but came across this.
The first sign of the name Blakey which is linked to Bannister is from this marriage.
Is it  possible that the surname was used as a first name.
Marriage: 6 Jul 1734 St Bartholomew, Colne, Lancashire, England
John Banister -  Eliz: Blakey - Coln

I`ve managed to trace the Bannister family back to 1762 with Lancs online Parish Clerks, also on Family search
I can`t find anything past John and Isabel anywhere ..

can anyone suggest where I can get further back online .

I have a full direct family line from John Bannister b1739 and Isobel Walton (his second marriage) back through their Norman ancestry (de Bannastre) and the Vikings and Danish Royalty to approx 300AD

John was my ggg ggrandfather. John Bannisters father was also called John and he was born in 1716 and married  Elizabeth Blakely on the 6th July 1734. His father was Charles Bannister b1692 who was married to Jane Barlow. Charles was born in Park Hill Barrowford which is now the Pendle heritage centre. It was the family home of the Bannister family for 13 generations. Charles went to live at 15 Mill street Trawden (Next to the mill) see google street view!  Charles started the Trawden Bannister line from which Roger Bannister comes from. The history of the Bannister family is recorded at the Heritage Centre. My Facebook group Bannister Family History UK goes much further and traces the family back to Normandy and the Vikings!
