Catherine Stainton m. William Gurnall 3 Mar 1772 Wrawby
« on: Monday 31 March 14 14:05 BST (UK) »
I have Catherine and William who are my 6x g grandparents. Their marriage was registered at Wrawby on 3 Mar 1772.

I also have a baptism for William in Wrawby 13 Feb 1747.

Both died in 1823, and I have their burial references.

Her burial record suggests Catherine was born abt 1748.

However, I can find no obvious baptism for Catherine.. There was a Catherine Stainton baptised at St Mary Magdelaine, Lincoln in 1752, together with a sister, Selina. I don't know Lincolnshire and wonder whether it is likely this is 'my' Catherine.

Does anyone have access to records which might help? Was there a baptism in or close to Wrawby which I haven't found online?

Any help or suggestions welcomed.

Marriage register here (top right) http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=818820&iid=123166

Catherine STANTON married Samuel KIDD at St Mary Mag (Lincoln) in 1781.

Thank you Geoff. I guess that suggests the Catherine baptised in Lincoln is not the one I'm looking for!

Oddly I can't find a baptism at Wrawby or close by.
