Mary Harper married Thomas Joy in Hodnet in 1768
« on: Monday 14 April 14 00:52 BST (UK) »
Looking for some help tracking down the children of Mary Harper and Thomas Joy who married in Hodnet in 1768.   Believe there was Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Richard and Thomas all born between 1768 and 1781.  Thomas died young. Believe that Elizabeth married Henry Burgum and that Sarah married George Taylor.  Have no information at all on Mary and Richard.  Any help appreciated, regards katlady.    :) :) :) :)

Elizabeth 20 nov 1768 baptism
Richard 25th sep 1770 baptism
Sarah 19th nov 1773  baptism
Mary 27th july 1777 baptism
Thomas 22nd july 1781   death 17th jan 1782 .................all in Hodnet ...Thomas / Mary Joy as parents

Hodnet is a village just outside Market Drayton
Hinstock is a village just outside Market Drayton
2nd feb 1809 Mary Joy to Thomas Lockley  at Hinstock ....can`t see any other possible within the area - but of course she could have moved away from Hodnet ...checking AA Routeplanner
Hodnet to Hinstock is 10 miles by road - looks to be about 6/7 miles across the fields ...so may be a possible marriage for Mary Joy
can`t find a marriage / death for Richard ?? seems to have disappeared ...

There are instances of the Joy Surname in and around the Hanmer area of Flintshire from about 1800.
