« on: Friday 09 May 14 12:55 BST (UK) »
My mother was stationed here along with others in WW2 doing War work , I remember her saying where she stayed it was on the sea front and they went to the ballroom dances sometimes  at night near there also they had dormitory`s to sleep, was it a Hospital or a School used for this purpose in WW2 can anyone help with the name of such a place, thank you,
Jaz

Possibly the Queen Alexandra Memorial Hospital, the Boulevard?

Or better still the Sanitorium, which was later The Royal Hospital.
It's at the south end of the beach, on Uphill Road North, and was converted to flats - now called Royal Sands.

Oh! and it's Weston-super-Mare! ;D ;D

I just had another thought, you could also contact the local historian for Weston - his name is Brian Austin but he will not use a computer however he will answer queries sent to him by post
Full address is 11 Alma Street, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset BS23 1RB

Good luck with this
