The Gloving Industry
« on: Saturday 07 June 14 07:55 BST (UK) »
Morning....not sure if this is the best place to start but am looking for info about the gloving industry in the Rimpton area. Lots of my Mum's relatives were glovers. Was there one main employer in that area or several? Would there be employment records available to view online anywhere? :)

Glove making has been going on in the Yeovil district since the 14th century.

There is a short history here:

A lot of the process took place at home - a real cottage industry!
