QUOTHQUAN BURIAL GROUND HEADSTONES

I photographed most of the headstones in this old churchyard this summer. The light was very bright and the position of the sun wasn't good. I will have to make another trip to re-take some of the pictures. There is a large burial vault belonging to the Chancellor family of Shieldhill, I have included this.
I will add the rest as soon as the weather is good enough to go back.

from your photo I found the death certificate on scotlandspeople and james is on my tree. he was born at biggar in 1863. died as the result of an accident on the railway line, he was aged only 22 years. so appreciate having a photo of his headstone.

Chancellor burial vault.  - Collyer, Hatman, Mein & Scott. (a stone in the Chancellor plot).  The Hatman probably should be Batman.  As two Collyer men married two Batman sisters.  There father John Batman was pioneer/founder of the city of Melbourne, Australia   http://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/batman-john-1752

No relation but trying to find out further information on the Collyer family as Capt William Daniel Collyer son George Chancellor Collyer is buried at Binya, NSW, Aust.

There are 5 stones in the Chancellor plot with the name Collyer. You are probably right about the "Hatman/Batman" name, as you can see, it is very difficult to read. The sun was very bright that day and I was there in the afternoon, when it was at its brightest.

the last 2 pictures. I think the date of death on the last stone is 1951.
