Lydia Thornton (Nee Billingsley) Burial Location.

Hello from a very windy Liverpool, England.

I am looking for advice to locate the grave of a Lydia Thornton (Nee Billingsley).

Lydia was born in Liverpool, England in 1859, married Charles Thornton in Springfield, Massachusetts, on 2nd November 1889. She died on 26th November 1935, Springfield, Massachusetts. Aged about 69.

In the census of 1930 she was living at 168 Plumtree Road, Springfield City, Massachusetts, USA,   aged   64.

I would love to find her grave (and a photograph if possible) to help fill in the gaps.

As I live in the UK, I am in the dark as to where to locate her grave and also obtain her death certificate.

I hope there is enough information here for some kind hearted person to point me in the right direction.

There is information about purchasing a death certificate from Massachusetts here:  http://www.mass.gov/eohhs/gov/departments/dph/programs/admin/dmoa/vitals/obtaining-certified-copies-of-vital-records.html  They have very high fees when not ordering in person or by mail.

Dear R Billo...back in 2014 you asked for help with information about Lydia Thornton (nee Billingsley). I believe that she may have been my great grandmother. If you still have the obituary, I would love to see it. If you have her husband's obituary (Charles Henry Thornton) or any information about her/them from the 1887-1892 time range (they were married 11/2/1889 in Springfield MA)...I would appreciate that also. Perhaps you might have an idea as to if she had a baby girl named Lydia Thornton on September 24, 1889 that was given up for adoption (brought up Lillian Helene Hildreth) ?

I searched ancestry for births on that exact date in Hampden Co, MA and didn't find anything close to Lydia Billingsley or Thornton for a mother's name.
Then for a child named Lydia (no surname) born on that exact date in MA and adjoining states. Found nothing.

Lillian Hildreth's marriage record says she was born in Townsend MA. I looked there and there were no children at all born on that exact date. Then for all of 1889 in Townsend - nothing found.
