Mount Brown
« on: Saturday 19 April 14 12:24 BST (UK) »
Hi
I am looking for the occupants of a house 9 Mount Brown on the 1901 Census but can't find this address on the  census. When comparing the 1901 census to the 1911 census there appears to be other parts of Kilmainham also missing.Has anybody come across this before? Are there census returns for the area held in the National Archives which haven't been added to online?

It seems from looking over old posts here for Dublin that a lot of the Kilmainham area is missing on line however i think you can still view it in National Archives.

Edit later  enter ''Census Kilmainham'' in the search box at top of this page for more info.

If the name you are researching is Strouglaeir? which appears as Stroughair at no 9 in 1911 did you note that only two of the children were born in Dublin in the 5 yrs preceding the 1911 Census and that Mary Eleanor age 6 was born in England circa 1906 as were the older children so unlikely to be on 1901 Irish Census ,the first mention of this name appears for William Thomas Jnrs birth in 1911 as Stroughair.

The 1901 census of England shows at Yorkshire,NorthRiding William Thomas Stroughair born 1871 Haughton Le Skerne Durham
Mary Ellen born 1872 Leeds
Francis George born 1900 Stockton,Durham.

Hi
Yes I have got the death cert which gives this address.Although he died in 1907 he is also listed on the 1908 Electoral list living at that address.  The informant was his wife Mary.He is buried in Glasnevin in a grave with others who appear to be unrelated.

If you have your grt grt grans parents names did you try looking for him on Irish Genealogy using their names going by his age he probably would have married in 1850/1860s.
