John Patrick Nicholas miller 1877 Newington
« on: Monday 08 September 14 16:00 BST (UK) »
I am looking for John Patrick Nicholas miller born 1877 Newington on the 1901 census. I have managed to find him on 1881, 1891 and 1911 census but just cannot find him in 1901.  He lived, died and married in Newington, and is on all the other census as based in Newington. He married in 1903, so would be single in 1901. Also both his parents are dead at this time so he is obviously not with them. Can anybody help find him in 1901. Thank you

Cannot find birth reg?
Does he give full name on census you have found?

Hi, sorry I made a typo....yes his marriage was in 1902 to Ada Louise hicks. On his baptism record he is under the name John Nicholas Miller. Death record  as John Nicholas miller. His marriage record states his full name as John Patrick Nicholas miller. 1881 census he is John miller, 1891 he is John N Miller, 1911 census John miller

That just goes to prove that on marriage certs fathers are often not shown as "dec" in this case the father shown wasn't listed as so but you wrote he was

Unfortunately I have lent someone my 1901 discs, 104 Darwin St was their address upon marriage 1902

I am assuming that the family on 1891
Ellen Arrow aged  68 born Ireland
William J Miller aged15 born Newington
John N Miller aged 13 born Newington
is your family ??

I have tried to trace William J Miller, I believe to be his brother,   whom I believe to have been aboard the RN ship at sea in ports abroad, St Helena 1901

William J appears to have married 1903

Is it possible that John N Miller was also  in some sort of service?

Just a thought
