Hi Paul,
Good thinking!
Sorry for the delay in replying-my email was hacked so have had to reset everything.
I will try all that and get back to you. I thought with an unusal name like Esau it would be easy! I never tried the Jones side for tracing for years because i thought-Jones-in wales-now there is a task!!!
Thank you so very much once again-i really am grateful for your help.
Kindest rehgards,
patricia

Hello,
next time I'll see if I can find a marriage for a Maria Roberts to a Mr Edwards. If there is one
I'll see if there's a burial for him before 1830.

Paul.

Hi Paul,
Working on your idea.
I have found the following
Thomas Jones b. 1701 (Flintshire) married a Elizabeth b.1703
They had a Thomas b.1727(Northop) who also married an Elizabeth Harrison b.1731.
They had a Thomas b.1762 and a Joseph b.1762 but he died 1763 but they then went on to have another Joseph b. 1766 Caerfallwch.
Now I am wondering whether-if this Joseph married a Mary it might just be my Esau's father!

Northop does not seem to have been a very big place.

Thank you.
Patricia

Hi Patricia,
I like your thinking :)
As I said I couldn't see an Esau born in Northop.

On the original baptism parish records for his children he is either Esau, Esay, Esaiah or Isaiah.
His first son is Joseph(after his father?) the next son Edward(after Maria's father?) :-\

What do you think of this?
Whitford marriage Nov 28 1823.
John Edwards. Of the parish of Holywell.
Maria Roberts. Of this parish.
Witnesses. John Pierce & Mary Hallington.
Pity this is all the info you get on most marriages before 1837.

I also found a Whitford burial that could fit.
July 6 1826. John Edwards. abode, Mostyn Lodge. Age 23.

That should give you something to think about  ;D

Paul.

Hi Paul,
Fantastic detective work!
Will feed this in and do some more scouting. Feel I am getting somewhere.
Really thought with a name like Esau this would be easy!

Thank you so very much once again. Let me know when you have had enough!!

I found this looking through the Whitford marriage index.

April 28 1857.
Joseph Jones(x) 24. bachelor. Occ, Miner. abode, Saithenlwyd. father, Esau. Occ, Miner.
Margaret Blackwell. 22. spinster. abode, Park. father, Jeremiah. Occ, Miner.
Waitresses. Edward Jones(x) & Annie Williams.
(x) = did not sign made mark.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Yes this is perfectly correct- I have-- can you copy and paste this link?
This is part of the tree, kind permission of Trefor-relating to Joseph who I thought was brother to my Thomas-father of Isaiah. There are some photos of Joseph and Margaret Blackwell and an Esau but I think this is their son-not my Esau. What do you think?

Would it be any help to invite you to my tree on Ancestry?

Wonder which Edward was the witness? I think Esau the father and Joseph Blackwell, the brides father mined at Minera. Will send this on in next post.
Thank you again so much-is the trail getting warmer?

Hi Paul,
I have had tremendous problems logging in to Rootsweb so gave up. I thought I would have another go since my visit the other day to Wales. I am on the trail again and met up with another Ancestry member. Are you able to help again may I ask?
Kindest Regards,
Patricia
