Welcome to Rootschat.
You already seem to have quite a lot of information about her. Is there anything specific you are hoping for help with?

Had no luck tyring to track the marriage record. Possible death record for William J Cleverly in Surrey in 1963 (born 1897). Could that be him?

I have found a death for
Herbert Sidney Adams
1971 Redbridge
D of B Sept 1895
I am assuming this is Dorothy's first husband as his date of birth is not far from Dorothy's, so are we looking for a marriage  to William Cleverley after this date, 1971 or are you thinking it was before 1971

Hi, I remember him in the late 1970's so the one registered in 1963 cannot be the same William Cleverly.
If they did marry it was before 1971, but then again maybe they did not marry and she just took his name. It has happened before that the process and expense to divorce back in the earlier days meant you just remarried and told everyone you had divorce, no way of checking.
Many Thanks for looking for me.

There's a William cleverley marries a dorothy m Williams in Swindon Wiltshire in fourth quarter 1946? Long way away but bit of a coincidence with her second initial? You could send for the marriage cert?

That would be her maiden name though and she would have been Adams by then. Duh!

Dorothy married Herbert 1919 Canterbury, kent.

There's a Herbert s Adams who's born 1898, dies 1948 ashford, kent.
Another born 1894 dies 1960 Chatham kent.

Hi, The Swindon marriage could be a possibility as she had a brother who lived in Swindon. It may be that she did not divorce the first husband as mentioned before and took her maiden name to stop any chance of being found out. Also the further she was away from her home county the less likely she would get caught. Divorce was very difficult and expensive in those days. Will order the marriage certificate and see what happens.
Many thanks to everyone for looking and replying.
