Hi Mark
On the 10th July 1621 Elland St Mary's there was a marriage between John Roide (Royde) of Baitings Gate and Elizabetha Lightowlers 1598-1636 daughter of Charles Lightowlers 1575-1636
I am of the belief that the John who married Elizabeth was the son of Michael Royde of Beestonhirst.
2 centuries later in a letter dated 1826 James Royds' account of his family mentions his grandfather living in Yorkshire and refers to Windy Bank and Townhouse both key residences of my early Lightowler family.

Are we researching the same Roydes and if so can you add anything to the above ?
