I am interested in any connections with James Hunter and Rebecca Bates, married in Castlederg in 1879 and their descendants. Thanks.

Looks like this might be your connection with the family- which means that you have more details than what's posted on this Hunter thread-
I am looking for anyone connecting with the Roy family who lived in the Parkhead/Tollcross area of Glasgow in the 19th & 20th C. ...
My GG parents were John Roy 1869-1936 & Jane Hunter 1872-1950.
... Any connections to these families would be welcome.

Marriage of James Hunter & Rebecca Bates (1867 Tyrone) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FG88-5N8
Children:
son (1874 Tyrone) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FPB2-KLJ
James Bates Hunter (1876 Donegal) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGXZ-98R
David Hunter (1878 Tyrone) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGK2-LFH
Sarah Hunter (1880 Tyrone) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGLW-Y5V

At first glance it may look as though the family moved a distance away c1876 and then back but since they lived so close to the Donegal/Tyrone border it may be that the 1876 birth came under a Donegal registration district which also included part of Tyrone.

Have you checked Scottish census records, etc. to see if any of the Hunters went to Scotland?

Yes, this is the right family. I know that David Hunter was married in Glasgow, Scotland on 5 June 1902 to Annie Harvey, born 1877 in Mishant, Ayrshire. One of their children, Annie Hunter b. 15 March 1905 in Maryhill, Glasgow and died in Glasgow in 1997 was my grandmother.

Have you found any of the family in Ireland in 1901 and 1911? if not then suggest checking for them in Scotland.
