Title: WW2 evacuation records
Post by: sanqhar on Friday 26 May 06 18:39 BST (UK)
My mother and sister were evacuated from London during WW2.  Are there any evacuation records?

In 1945 they went from Bow, London E3 to Preston Lancashire.

I would imagine that if they do exist that they would fall under the 100 year rule and wouldn't be released for public viewing until at least 2039.

Hi Sanqhar

There aren't any personal evacuation files at the National Archives :(

I've noticed in the Devon RO indexes that they hold records of children evacuated to Exmouth. It might be worthwhile contacting Rochdale or their relevent RO to see if they hold anything.
