I am looking for the parents of Gideon Stephanus BOSHOFF who was born in George 17 Jan 1925.  He married in Johannesburg in 1948.

Any hints as to where to look would be great.

Hi, I have nothing on the Boshoff family, but I noticed you had Cox on your list.  I have 20 Cox's in my tree.  They are married to Moodie's, Huffam's, Flood's, and Abbott's.  Others have only scant information.  If this is of any interest to you, let me know.

My great grandfather COX arrived in Natal 1879 and married a FOLEY.  The names you mentioned don't appear in my COX tree.

Thanks for the reply but the one I am looking for died 1985 and his spouse was Alice LANGFORD.

It is highly unlikely that his estate file will be available at the archives yet.  Have you tried going through the Dutch Reformed Church records on familysearch?

I've looked in the catalog and can't find births/baptisms for George, Cape Province.

Why not apply for a birth certificate for him from the Dept of Home Affairs?  It would be best to apply for an unabridged one as that gives more information.
