Hi Trevor,

Thanks for the update.. Have you got access to the original 1881 census where Frederick Jordan is registered at his fathers shop employed as assistant bootmaker?.. The reason I ask is that the electronic version records him as being married!.. I wonder where is wife was.. I had a quick look on Freebmd and found a marriage of Frederick Jordan and Mary Ann Wallice in Dec 1880, Lewisham Kent.. Could be a possibility!..
I wonder where his fathers boot making shop was?

been trying to see if I could find anything on William Jordan , bootmaker but no luck .
in 1881 cen as you say freds down as married but again can,t pin down his wife for same cen like I said before I feel you need to get one of the boys birth certs to find her maiden name it may help .
also in the 1881 cen the address for them all is 19 king st Canterbury so did a google st view didn,t get far with that so did a general google search for the address and up came estate agents details apparently it last sold in 2002 for £250,000  but has a valuation now of approx. 349.000upwards and its only a 3 bed semi .
as sandys going great guns I,ll sit back and watch for a while , but am more than willing to participate if you want .
