Unfortunately it just gives the years of birth and death for both.

Lakeview Cemetery records give the date 10 Jan 1991 for Duncan, although it is not clear whether this is the date of death of the date of burial.

Thanks to the clues given so far found Duncan Donovan McEachern died 10 Jan 1991 in Victoria BC.  He was a railroad engineer according to his death cert who lived most of his working life in Sarnia, then retired to Victoria.  Taking trains across the border made railroaders eligible for US Social Security which explains the SS death index.

It is somewhat ironic that Donnie, as he was called during his youth in Fork River Manitoba, became a railroad engineer as his father was killed while riding as a passenger on a train which was in a head-on collision with another train.  The accident occurred at 8:20 AM on July 9, 1908 about a mile and a half east of Medicine Hat.  Five railroaders and two passengers died.
