What does Barr/ Mars/ mash/ bull. mean at the top of the columns next to the name?
I'm looking at daniel Nash of danbury. I'm guessing the f next to his name means farmer as on his will, in 1715, he leaves free holding and copyhold lands plus £28!

It's the name of the candidates they voted for in that particular election
