That would make her father George just 15 when Dorothy was born.

FreeBMD has no Cooper/Marlow marriages listed for Leicestershire in the decade before this birth.

The harder I look, the more difficult it seems to be to accurately identify H/Anna Marlow/Cooper with George Cooper as the parents of Dorothy.

George E Cooper of Markfield is in the 1911 census with his family, aged 14.

One George E Cooper seems to have married a READ in Mkt Bosworth RD in 1924 with a child born the following year.

OTOH there was a James Cooper and Emily Marlow marriage in 1899 in Mkt Bosworth reg district. This couple MAY be the ones shown on the 1901 census in Markfield with 2 small children (their family subsequently grows).

Danone, how sure are you of your facts here, because I don't think they add up.

Maybe I misunderstood your first post.

Dorothy Cooper b 1912

You seem to have given Dorothy two different mothers; (Hannah and Mary Ellen); and stated that her father was George Ernest.

None of these suppositions seems correct.

And the Marlow maiden name seems to have belonged to Emily, who was married to James -- a different family altogether from your grandfather's.
