McDermotts from Killmacaran or Shercock

I would like to know if there are any ancestors of Edward & Bridget McDermott still living in Cavan.  E & B needed a Bishops dispensation to get married in 1840 while living on Kilmacaran, and I would like to know why

They had several children from 1842- 1860 and then they left Cavan with some of their younger children to go to either USA or Durham.  I have been told but haven't verified that this family went to USA, but because some of them were ill the whole of the family were not allowed into America so some stayed and the sick ones came back to England.  If any of this story rings any bells please get in touch.

Like a lot of families in Ireland the story goes that Edward and Bridget were kicked off their land some time during 1850's and 60's.

Children from this family were:  John, Michael, Mary, Annie, Edward, Thomas, Patrick and James.

Bridget's maiden name was either Ginty, McEntee, McGinty .  She also grew up on Kilmacaran.
