William married three times on the island of Mauritius.  On his 1st marriage certificate it  gave his birth place, Cork, Ireland, so no idea where exactly.  His father Jacob was in the army so where in Cork would there have been an army barracks?  Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Carol, there were Army Barracks in several locations in Cork to mention a few Ballincollig, Fermoy, Cork City that I know of.  The time frame is difficult as his birth is well before Civil Registration in 1864 so you would have to rely on Baptism. Do you know Williams denomination?

The father is William on that one

The surname could come under Stanley.  His Father Jacob married a French lady, Euphrasie De Laine or something similar, when he was in Mauritius.  Not sure which church he would be baptised.

Jacob's discharge papers reveal that he was living in Buttevant when William was born in 1823.
Are there any records I could search?
