Pollard Completed
« on: Wednesday 02 July 14 23:36 BST (UK) »
Hi All
I'm trying to find the Baptism of Jeremirah Pollard.

I believe he was born in Forest Hill, Oxford, in or around 1741.

Can anyone confirm this.

Thanks, Borri

this link offered may give some assistance to some of the material available >

the parish was established in 1564, so I would recommend a quick email or search of >

as to who , if anyone, has done a transcription of the prs.....

https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Forest_Hill,_Oxfordshire...... family search has filmed there so their search engine should bring up something if covered by old IGI....

help this helps ...good luck

Hi Borri,

On Anc... there is a public tree showing Jeremiah Pollard bapt. 4-3-1740 Forest Hill, Oxford but the source they show, has him bapt.   in Oakley, Bucks the s/o Thomas & Sarah. Furthermore they have him married to a Catherine Read 19-10-1775 Lower Winchedon, Bucks.

Presumably this is not your man.

Alternatively you could order a name search from the Oxford Family History Society for a small fee using this address;

Forest Hill prs have been transcribed and published by the Oxfordshire Family History Society on CD OXF-HED02.   POLLARD is a very rare name in the pr (in fact only one instance from the start to 1830/40), but this may be of interest to you:

6 Nov 1776 - POLLARD William son of Jeremiah and Catherine - Cuddesdon

Thanks All
Yes Alan I believe you have the correct family.

I was asked to look at this for a friend and I just needed a starting base which between the three of you I now have.

That's the trouble with being at work, sometimes you just don't get the time to do some groundwork and that's where you guys do a great job.

Thanks, Borri
