Where would you buy a birth certificate if my ancestors are from this area?

The same place as for anywhere else in England and Wales - the GRO - www.gro.gov.uk

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.

Appleyard - WRY

Or from the local register office. Try Yorkshire BMD - some offices take online orders.  East Riding does.

All the best

The GRO suggested by BumbleB is normally the cheapest option.  Local register offices often charge more to cover postage.

I get paid every two weeks and currently I don't have the money to buy the record. Is there a way for someone to look up the parents on the certificate?

If you tell us who you are looking for, we might be able to help?

Or try your local library, and see if they have free access to Ancestry or FindMyPast

Solomon Holmes born 1846 in howden, East Riding, Yorkshire. I've been looking on ancestry and I got someone here to find the baptism but it's down to two different couples, based on a possible (there on a census of lists of people in a work house with no parents labeled as pauper) sister. The mom might be Rachel if that helps, but no maiden name is known.

Everything that I've been told and finding are possibilities but nothing is solid.

I presume he married - what does the certificate say about his father

Do you have him on census 1851 / 1861
