Marriage search 1845
« on: Wednesday 15 October 14 09:48 BST (UK) »
Hello,
Is it possible to trace a marriage.  I have 1845 York from BMD, between Samuel Lewin and Alice Bayne
She was of Fulford York, but daughter of a Quaker, Samuel was an Independant minister so it may be Non Conformist
Any help appreciated

From Yorkshire BMD the marriage is shown as "York District Marriages" which then comes under the heading of "Civil Marriages".  I would take this to mean that they married in a Register Office, and so you would need to purchase the certificate.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
