Hi everyone:

Do you think these are the signatures of the same person?

They come from attestation papers and a parish register.

Thanks for taking a look :)

Yes.
There are a few differences but more similarities especially the distinctive G and H. :) Differences may be accounted for by the pen used and his sobriety at the time. ;D

In actual fact it could be that he was not used to writing his own name.  ;) Maybe he got better as he got older ....

Agreed. It looks as if there are many similar letter types.
Keane (Westmeath)
Ledwith (Longford/Westmeath)
Gray (Sligo)
Eustace (Louth)
Frost (Suffolk)
Farrar (Yorkshire)
La Favor/Lefebvre (Quebec)
Mineard/Maynard/Mainard/ Maynord (Wiltshire/Monmouthshire)

Thanks all for the replies. I think it must be the same person.

(The reason I needed to know can be found in another thread I started about George Hayden joining the Militia in London twice. It seems it was a bit of a fraudulent endeavour, but little did he suspect that he'd be getting found out over a hundred years later...)
