Hello
My ancestor Joseph Lucas, baptised at St John, Coventry 14 Aug 1805, a poor child of the parish in Coventry was presumably the grandson of Martin & Honor Lucas of Southam, Warwickshire. He was apprenticed as a weaver in Coventry and married Elizabeth Scott. However I discovered last month that he was given three years hard labour for stealing and later stole again and was comitted at Warwick Assizes and transported to Tasmania and died in Victoria, Australia and was buried Port Fairy Cemetery 24 Dec 1871. I found this info on the Mormon IGI site and wrote to the descendants in Australia who have give me dates and full details. He married another convict, and his former wife married an Edward Lynch in Coventry because after seven years she would be deemed a widow as he was tranported for life. His daughter Harriet from the first marriage married my ancestor Henry Atkins in Coventry.
If you want to know more let me know.
