HICKLING Thomas born abt 1818 SUTTON BONINGTON

Thomas consistently names his place of birth as Sutton Bonington. When he married in Mar 1840 in Sutton Bonington, he named his residence as St Ann's Sutton Bonington and named his father as John, but with no occupation.
Does anyone have access to Sutton Bonington parish records please?

I have access to Sutton Bonnington records, but I can't see a Thomas baptised with father named as John.

Who were the witnesses on the marriage certificate?

I don't know if you have noticed in the 1841 census Thomas is living next door to a William Hickling & wife Dinah.  William says No to being born in the County.  William married Dinah also in 1840 on 20 April at Sutton Bonnington.  Dinah died in 1842

Maybe if you track William down in later censuses, it may lead to his birthplace or if someone could look at his marriage entry for you.

Witnesses were Frances' father Francis King (I presume father) and Mary Cook. I did notice William as I went though the 1841 census looking for other Hicklings and only found him.
Will see if it helps to follow him, but birthplace seems well established by Thomas.

There are two baptisms at Sutton Bonnington, St Michaels to a John

William Hickling bapt 6.11. 1809 to John & Mary
Ann Hickling bapt 1.11. 1821 to John Mary - FWK

A big gap between the two.

There are other baptisms to a John (FWK) & Mary around that time in different parishes,  Not sure if it's the same couple.  Still no Thomas though.

Thanks.......the William on 1841 census must have been later than that giving age as abt 20......found the son Edward born to William & Dinah in 1851 with maternal grandparents in Sutton Bonington.
