there is a marriage in Gloucester in 1876   

John Dowdeswell    on the same page one of the possible spouses is   Annie Thompson

Also in the process of helping my father get my grandfathers service record (Harry Dowdeswell b1926) , and from there possibly any service medals he had.  All very interesting.
