Hi Jill,

No, Gibsons in my tree are just coincidental on another line.  Yes, I noticed your Pirie's and wondered but then I looked again and didn't see any Meldrums ...

Every generation in 'my' Ferriers seems to have had a Gibson Ferrier. I research the Ferriers only hoping to make a connection to Thomas Meldrum and Elizabeth Pirie that can take me back but I will add your Alexander and let you know if I come across anything.

Yes, I think it is quite an unusual name also but I like it very much.

Where are your Gibsons and who are they? If you tell me Oamaru in NZ, I will swamp you with mails  :)

regards,

Lindsay

No, sorry Lindsay, nothing quite as exotic! My Gibsons come from West Yorkshire and into East Yorkshire!

Not the same Lindsay  :) but I have Ferrier's also .. a Gibson Ferrier married my 4G Aunt, Eliza Meldrum in Ferry-Port-on-Craig in 1839.

Have you seen the Ferrier post on Scotland General???

Hi Jill,

There is another Ferrier in Angus post on the Angus page started by ontchick, should we ask a moderator to combine them? What do you think?

Sounds like a good idea to me, Lindsay - the more the merrier. I've got no idea how to go about it though!
