Look-up anyone please?
« on: Monday 13 October 14 14:48 BST (UK) »

I'm having another trawl through the records for my missing Grandfather, William James Wilson (1860 - 1937).

I notice that there's a possible Birth in India  William James Wilson, Birth 1859 - 1861,

I wonder if some kind soul on here might check it out for me please?

Cheers, Romilly.

Moderator comment: edited for content. Do not ask for look-ups from commercial sources. Most commercial sources have strict 'Terms of Use', which forbid publishing their data elsewhere, so asking for such look-ups is also asking people to ignore the 'Terms of Use'.

Many thanks avm228. That might be useful...

As I have previously posted on here, - I am completely unable to find my late Grandfather, William James Wilson (1860 - 1937) anywhere prior to his Marriage in Swansea on the 22nd June 1893. (He always said that he was born in Manchester, and puts that as POB on the 1901 and 1911 Censuses).

I can't find him anywhere in Manchester, - and so I'm trying to search divergently!

What was his occupation, and the name & occupation of his father?

He was a Painter and Decorator. (He says House Painter on his Marriage Cert).
On that Cert he gives his Father as, 'William Wilson, (Deceased). Occupation: Mason'.
