G'Day All!
Got a couple of people said to be around here at that time.
One William Patrick Binsteed'b'1870, Dunmore, and Thomas Binsteed,'b'1857 in Guilcagh.I dont know the relationship if any,but the name isnt common around there.
My guess is that they moved from Cork possibly because of work at the Portlaw's linen factory
Would be grateful for all and any help.
              Goggy. ;)

I wonder is Thomas Binsteed age 44 who was born in Co. Wexford and who is at 111 Barrack Street in the 1901 census of Waterford city  a relation ? A Jane Binsteed died at Ballinamintra 3rd July 1878 aged 46. She was the wife of a retired Coastguard. The informant on the death certificate was Charlotte Binsteed, the district was Woodstown.

Following on from the above post there was a Richard William Binstead/Binsteed serving as a Coastguard at Tramore/Isle of Kane from 7 Nov 1851 until 31 January 1860, when he transferred to Ballymacaw, which places him in the general location for Thomas's birth in 1857. Richard was born in Portsea, Hampshire circa 1821.
