All Saints appears to have been Anglican since it was rebuilt in 1837.

Thanks Mo
Could there be two All Saints/
One RC and one C of E.
I had an idea it could have changed depending who was on the throne.

Yes, there are two All Saints churches in Glossop.

The parish (CofE) church dates back (in the form of previous buildings) to mediaeval times (the earliest recorded vicar is William of 1250). In those days, of course, the church was Roman Catholic and remained so until Henry VIII made his changes.

The Howard Lords of the Manor were always a Roman Catholic family and established the All Saints RC Church to replace a private chapel in Glossop Hall.

There is more information about all the Glossopdale Churches & Chapels on the Glossop Heritage web site, http://www.glossopheritage.co.uk/index.html.
