Ketton-cum-Tixover Query

My 4xgreat-grandfather Francis Cooper and his eleven siblings are all recorded as being born/baptised in Ketton-cum-Tixover in the 1700's.  In June this year I visited both Ketton and Tixover and saw the churches.  My question is does anyone know, or is there any way of finding out, which church they would have been baptised/christened in please?

It sounds like they may have been born in the parish of Ketton cum Tixover. I read that Tixover was a chapelry of Ketton until 1900.

Where did you get the information about their birth/baptism in Ketton cum Tixover?

You will probably need to check the parish registers of both churches to find out which church they were baptised in.

Others will probably be able to assist you further.

Thanks Ruskie for your reply.  I got the info from the IGI years ago, I just went on and checked and it just says Ketton-cum-Tixover as the christening place which is altogether confusing taking into account what you have told me.  And yes, the registers of each church would be handy

I have a CD giving all the Cooper bps of your family listed under Tixover - presumably these have been transcribed from the actual parish records so more than likely Tixover.  I'm sure someone will have a definitive answer in due course.

Thanks Forte for that information, and I must say it sounds quite definitive to me.  Although it depends on the source of the CD I suppose.
