Rob, I think the diary was with the state library W A and for reference only.  May need a holiday?
We may have solved the riddle of Thelma.. I have found this record on the ancestry site.

Dorothy Thelma Eliza Reid born 1900, Midland Western Australia
Parents, David Blair Reid and Lillian Tucker.

Also David Robert Alexander Reid in 1903, same place and parents.

I will need to check for more, as the blurb re D B Reids diary mentioned 5 children.

Will need to bet back to to you.

Regards,
Eileen

Thank you Grandies ... The 5 children were the next on my list to look up

I have found the death of Robert Edward Tucker and it's nice to say that NSW BDM seems to be working nicely for me again.

Lets hope it displays properly.

G'morn all

5 Children they say to Lilly & David Reid. Here are my thoughts.

Working from the cemetery records http://www.ozburials.com/CemsWA/Capel/capel.htm We can presume that Thelma is their daughter as all 3 (Thelma, Lilly & David) are buried in the same plot.

Now from the comments on Thelma's grave we have REID, Thelma . Aged 29 . Died 3 March 1929 . Mother and sister of Dave, Jim, Mac and Doug. Grave No. 37 C of E B .... Now I translate it as saying that she was a mother ... I think it also says she was a sister to Dave, Jim, Mac and Doug ... Hmmm ... Did she die in childbirth and the child isn't named yet???

Since Thelma used the name Reid I presume she was unmarried. Can I have somebodies  thoughts on this?? (That she was their daughter and she was unmarried)

From the state heritage records it says "In 1933, on lot 61, the site of the original homestead, Jim Reid built a new home called Thirimere'." So Jim is one of the sons. There is no Jim recorded in the cem index but there is a James b.ABT 1910 d. 2006.  ...

WA BDM has:         (remember that these births are only recorded at the place named & not necessarily born there)
David Robert Alexander Reid b.1903 at Leederville (Perth) to parents David Blair & Lilly Tucker
James WH Reid born Wellington (not too far) in 1910 ... No parents listed.
Douglas b. 1917 at Wellington.

So who is "Mac" ?? WA BDM has a Murvin T Tucker b.1912 at Wellington.

So do we have the 5 children??

Apologies for the silly comment on my last posting. The Reids & the Tuckers were among the first to purchase properties in the area. It was first explored around the 1830's.
