Jones Yet Again!
« on: Tuesday 18 February 14 10:14 GMT (UK) »
My relative John Jones was born in Rhosymedre Denbighshire in c 1804.In the 1851 Census for Denbighshire he is shown as a Carrier and married to a Margaret given as born in c 1806.
HO107/2503/145/49.

They are showing with a daughter Hannah given as born in c1845.Now I will return to this Hannah a bit later as there several things I need to tidy up about her.

The first thing I would like an opinion on is the name of the other daughter given as born in c 1836 that begins with an M please.

Regards
William Russell Jones.

Thanks both,it is transcribed as Mariah on Ancestry but I'm not entirely sure.Ideally one would be looking at the 1841 Census entry to confirm things.Unfortunately the 1841 Census for the area is lost.

Hi WR

In the absence of the 1841 for our area, I checked  my Clwyd booklets for around that time - nothing showing.  Have you tried the Blackwell?

Thanks Pam,the family you gave in 1841 is likely to be this one in 1851.

Thanks Gadget,I will take a look at the Blackwell Index.Whilst unlike many in recording the people in my Tree I don't list every Census entry,on the other hand I always if possible like to list marriage entries for people.I've been unable so far to pinpoint a marriage for John and Margaret.

I've only decided to look at this John again as I found uncertainties last night with regards to the marriage of daughter Hannah.

Just come up to my desktop PC and checked the Index, WR - 3 in the Ruabon area but none to a John and Margaret  :(

Given their ages, they probably married mid 20s-30s - I'll see if I can find a marriage.
